T.J. Wood nate, if you ever read this, thank you. you have no idea how much joy you have brought to me over the years. I saw you play a club in iowa 20 some years ago and Ballad of the Bullied Demons has gotten me out of a lot of mental ruts. I still have my bootleg Slayer shirt somewhere and the Centaur book. Your music has fed me for decades

Go Home Satan C G When I was a little boy I felt a certain way That I could be good or bad every single day And my mama helped to try to be good To do my chores and say my prayers when I could But still sometimes I'd be a bad little boy And doing bad things would fill me up with joy I'd lie I'd steal I'd throw a punch or two And do the sour things God said I ought not to But then an angel was so kind to me And good is how she made me want to be F But sometimes bad feelings come around I recognize the taste and enjoy the sound Then I say Chorus C G Am Em Hyah Satan get away from me That's not who I wanna be Before become something I don't wanna be Fore I become a man you don't wanna see As I got older I used the golden rule When men were rather rude I would keep my cool I'd imagine the man the angel would want to see And that is the man I would try to be Still I slip to darkness now and then And it gives me a warm welcome like a long lost friend But that's no friend that I want to keep It's the friend that feeds on sorrow and needs souls to reap When I do a bad thing I do fee regret But I haven't learned to stop completely yet F But that's not the me that I want to choose Cause every time I do I seem to lose Good men do bad things every day Some on purpose some on mistake I do more bad than I'd like to And it always leaves me feeling blue Whether good or bad'a not for me to say But rest assured everyone will pay Hopefully from god above But maybe it's already in our blood I don't know if a reward is waiting for me But good on earth is how I wanna be I fold bad hands and take a moment to think And close by big bad Satan slinks I say "So obey God. Stand up to the devil. He will run away from you." James 4:7

A good a girl walked through the woods Her mind was strong and her heart was good She came upon a monster den and she stood right up to them They said give me what you got she didn't run she stayed in font She kicked their knees to the back of them And they wished they asked to be her friend She took a pen knife from out of her purse She cut the nose of the one who was the worst He Cursed and cried and wailed and screamed And wished it was all a dream Bad men will have no friends In the end Be kind to the girls you know Because they are lions A kind girl fell into a pit They slithered hissed rattled and bit But she didn't scream or really care She wove them into her hair The remaining horde attacked she didn't take a single step back She rolled them all into a ball And slammed them against the wall Her eyes turned no one to stone But we're welcoming and warm as home She was not born a gorgon But she made herself just that strong A little girl on an island alone The river cut her off from her home She didn't mope with her hands on her chin She dove in and began to swim Crocs tried to bite her feet She kicked em into obliterated meat Fish tried to ram into her side She hammered on and didn't mind A river monster rose from the deep The flood disturbed its hundred year sleep He tried to eat her but she socked his chin And he went right to sleep again There's a lion in my house and she's calm as can be But I know when the demon takes me to hell she'll come and rescue me

Seven mighty angels came from above some said they were hate some promised love but plane for all on earth to see was a promise of impending misery i saw a sword i saw a scythe i wept that my family was alive we set sail for the darkest sea we hoped in vain that we could flee we laughed we cried and reminisced we repented but our message missed we roared that we believe it now we prayed but didn’t really know how And the angels said don’t talk to me and heathens sobbed and could barely breathe all will bear a mark that will be clear to see it will determine your fate for eternity i saw a throne upon a sea of glass and reflected on mistakes made in the past i saw four beasts with heads full of eyes i heard angels sing i heard mortals cry upon a white horse the conquerer wore a crown his bow forced all before him to the ground a red horse stole the peace from earth and reclaimed the gift given to all at birth a black horse held judgement for all proud men stood still utterly appalled at last a pale horse delivered death and regret crushed even good men’s chests but death said, son don’t talk to me and he rode to where i could barely see and stars fell to earth as figs from a tree the sun turned black and the moon bloody ---- an eagle screamed woe to ye all and we watched one single star fall a bottomless pit was opened wide a flood of locusts poured from inside they hungered not for normal crops in five months the agony would stop God gave them a scorpion sting And Abaddon was their awful king they stung until we wished we were dead but not them with god’s seal on their heads despite the pain we could not die we screamed our fury at the sky and in these days we did cry for death Abaddon said Death has already left we screamed for our families with every breath and we saw that not a single angel wept from the 12 tribes the few were sealed they approached the throne, gave thanks and kneeled the rest received a different mark from a dragon voiced beast in total dark then i looked and on Zion stood the lamb with an army of the good then a thunder voice boomed from above with a song of harps explaining love i understood not a single word my hearing faded and my vision blurred the reaping hour then did come and then angles poured wrath on everyone and tongues were gnawed and teeth were gnashed and chests were stomped and skulls were smashed the demons moved so slow and fast fallen was babylon at last I saw a river flowing from the throne of god within a golden city measured by the angel’s rod and dark of night will not return and hearts won’t ache and souls won’t burn and he will wipe tears from our eyes and he’ll take the pain from our insides and death will find peace with new friends and we’ll be with our families again seven angels dropped to earth from an unknown kingdom above some were boiling wrathfully and some were made of love humanity looked on with innocent curiosity humanity stood at the edge of eternal misery

Seems we stand no chance, seems we stand no chance. Against anything...against God. So we'll quit, quit, quit. So we'll quit quit quit quit quit. So we must...So we must... We must gather up our armies. We must grab the sword and axe. We'll send the bloodied angels wounded crawling back. We will never retreat, we will never retreat, we'll pile their bloodied bodies at our hoofed feet. Stuck in a state of wretchedness God will not deliver us An unrelenting enemy That tortures us daily The time has come to stand The time has come to fight Gather demons all, We storm Heaven tonight Armor in front Wings in back Swords in hand and Our blood is black We fly to Heaven’s gates We pound upon the doors Deafening silence then The roar of Gabriel’s horn. March on men and claim the throng We are now returning home Flaming swords once burned us all By our swords God’s best will fall Hell’s knights, advancing constantly Death in defeat or victory The taste of angel blood is sweet, We will never retreat. We will never retreat. We didn't want any trouble. We didn't want any pain. But now all our demonic children, can play again.

One at at time, sand them down And one by one they go in the ground Their weight bends my back, it hurts my hands Generations will come, and they’ll still stand. Marking the dead for most of my years Stones stand in grass that is watered by tears I can’t bear to see their mourning eyes read the words I write So I set the stones in place alone late at night. I am a gravestone carver. Orders arrive everyday Someone someone loved, has passed away Long poems of memory or name and age kept brief Commemorating a life or displaying a survivor’s grief Here ends their suffering, for some it’s just begun Everything the dead did for themselves is now undone Some die alone, some leave a friend with failing health If a grave is blank I buy and set a stone myself. I am a gravestone carver. Small stones for tiny bones that never had a chance Parents stand above their child in a woeful trance Children are free from sin, so on their stone a lamb With watering eyes and a heavy heart I do the best work I can. I never feared the day that Death comes take my hand I fear the cries of my family, so I’ll live as long as I can I do know I will pass and my kin will carve my stone My soul will leave, but these last words will mark my body’s home, Go home friends, dry your eyes I will be here when you arrive Do not fear death don’t run Rather live life well so you’re ready to go when Death comes. In life I loved my wife, in death I love her still I’ve joined our friends and family, we’re waiting on God’s green hill. I am a gravestone carver.

I hear my friends all saying they want something Something more than what they already have But they don't want to work harder to get it They want to take it from ol’ mom and dad They want to take it from you and I We better give it to em or I think I'll cry They scream its serious business and they mean it And they believe it and I'll tell you why They are perpetual children For whom nothing is enough They demand all others think just like them And need safe spaces when life gets too tough I hear them scream about the one percent And how the rich having so much isn't fair In the US we are the 1% of the world There are less fortunate people everywhere But they don't mind the poor kids in Burundi There are poorer folks in Malawi yet but they heard a rich man has a great big mansion And so they feel that’s what everyone should get They are perpetual children They want everyone to feel just the same They want everyone to get paid a million dollars And to erase any possibility of pain They know they could fix it if we let them All we have to do is give them a chance They'll determine how much you make what books you read what you can say, think and how you can dance Then no one will ever ever be offended No one will ever feel unsafe Then we will all be so comfortable and sedated That we won't notice our enemies laying waste They are perpetual children Conservatives are the only enemy Terrorist are all misunderstood If we give them a chance they'll probably be friendly They say race relations are a problem And they do seem to have worsened recently But I live in a great big American city And we all treat each other quite decently There are bad people everywhere you go But they are outnumbered greatly by the good And if you fall down I will pick you up Just as any good American would They are perpetual babies They want to know your geneology They’ll help learn why you should be offended Instead of working hard and enjoying being free
